I painted this house from photos I took of it in 2009. The house, which appeared to be deserted, sat among cornfields in Correctionville, Iowa. It appears, from Google Maps, that the house has since been removed and replaced by -- what else -- an extension of the adjacent cornfield.
About Alan Mager
I made my first attempt at painting with oils in 1977 and immediately fell in love with the medium. Since then, I have painted in spurts, often experiencing long periods of inactivity. But once I was exposed to oil painting I have thought about painting almost constantly. After I retired in 1996, I became active in the performing arts as a musician, singer, actor, theater set designer and director. Through all this, I never stopped thinking about painting, and now painting has become my primary creative outlet. I have never had any formal art lessons.
