Artist's Description

Do you suppose the gal in the fur coat went into the bank when the other two characters robbed it? Maybe she drove the getaway car, or maybe she's the brains of the outfit. The faces have been blanked to protect the guilty. I don't do much figurative work, and this subject is totally uncharacteristic for me. It was fun to do, though, and makes me think that I should work outside of my comfort zone more often.

I made my first attempt at painting with oils in 1977 and immediately fell in love with the medium. Since then, I have painted in spurts, often experiencing long periods of inactivity. But once I was exposed to oil painting I have thought about painting almost constantly. After I retired in 1996, I became active in the performing arts as a musician, singer, actor, theater set designer and director. Through all this, I never stopped thinking about painting, and now painting has become my primary creative outlet. I have never had any formal art lessons.
